Sound healing is the application of sound frequency through voice or instrument to bring harmony to the energy centers of our bodies.
We all vibrate at different frequencies. Sound has an effect on us all and different sounds such as a favourite piece of music or the bells of a church, can invoke different responses. Sound healing harnesses these effects to bring balance and harmony to the body, mind, and emotions.
The power of sound
Sound is an integral part of our lives; the sound of a baby crying when we are born, the sound of our mothers singing lullabies to us when we are children, the sound of the sea, the sound of birds signing. All these sounds have an effect on our emotions, thus having an effect on our energy field as mind, body, and spirit are one and the same. This is one of the reasons why sound is such a powerful therapeutic tool. Sound also works on a very deep level and resonates well with our physical body.
There’s no organ system in the body that is not affected by sound, music and vibration. You can look at disease as a form of disharmony. – Mitchell Gaynor
Your sound healing treatment
In the initial consultation, we will discuss what is happening for you on a physical, mental and emotional plane. With this information, we can then explore what type of sounds you would like me to incorporate into your healing session. I work with Crystal bowls, Himalayan bowls, koshi chimes, tuning forks, tingshas and my voice.
There is scientific evidence that sound can affect your health, for instance, ultrasound can be used to break up kidney stones. It does this by emitting sound waves which shatter the stones into millions of fragments which are then passed out of the body. Similarly, when we have emotional blockages or imbalances sound can be used to help to release and rebalance them. It is important to address these emotional imbalances because they are often connected to the pain we may feel in our heart centres.
Heal the heart, then you will heal the self.
